Cruises departing Adelaide leave from the Outer Harbor Passenger Terminal at Port Adelaide, roughly twenty kilometres north-west of Adelaide Airport and twenty-five kilometres from the CBD. Both runs take about twenty-five to thirty minutes in normal traffic.
The difference between a cruise transfer and an ordinary one is what we plan around. An airport transfer works forwards from your flight; a cruise transfer works backwards from your boarding window, with a buffer built in. Missing a sailing is not a delay, it is a cancelled holiday.
Cruise luggage is not airline luggage
People pack differently for a two-week cruise, and it shows in the boot. A vehicle that comfortably handles an airport run for two often will not handle the same two people going on a cruise. We ask for a realistic bag count and allocate accordingly — usually a Kia Carnival or larger even for a couple.
Transfers we run
- Adelaide Airport → Outer Harbor — for passengers flying in on embarkation day or the day before.
- City hotel → Outer Harbor — the most common cruise transfer, timed to your boarding group.
- Home → Outer Harbor — for local passengers, with the car left safely at home instead of in a car park for a fortnight.
- Outer Harbor → Adelaide Airport — disembarkation mornings, with the chauffeur waiting before the gangway opens.
- Group cruise transfers — Sprinter and coach for travel clubs and extended family groups.
Disembarkation days
Disembarkation is the more chaotic end of a cruise. Several thousand passengers come off within a couple of hours and the terminal kerb becomes a scrum. We position the chauffeur before the gangway opens and confirm a meeting point in advance, so you walk off and straight into the vehicle rather than joining a queue.
Shore excursions while in port
If Adelaide is a port of call rather than your departure point, we also run private day tours from the terminal — the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, the Barossa or a city loop — timed strictly to your all-aboard time. Same vehicle, same chauffeur, back well before the ship sails.
